NET4Air is a project planned to run for 36 months, with its workflow subdivided into eight work packages (WP). Those are represented by the seven WPs for which the dependencies are shown in the PERT diagram and an eight external WP responsible for reviewing any ethical concerns regarding the use of artificial intelligence.
WP1: Ethics requirements
This WP covers the ethics overview with respect to the application of artificial intelligence and data security within the project.
WP2: Project coordination & innovation management
WP2, led by IMT, will cover all the coordination and innovation management activities of the project. This includes scientific and technical coordination, administrative and financial management, internal communication, risk monitoring and resolution.
WP3: Stimulating scientific excellence and innovation capacity in environmental monitoring and remediation and IoT for data processing and awareness / alarming
WP3 will enhance innovation and research capacity in environmental monitoring and data acquisition. The work package will be coordinated by CNR, which will cover this field, starting with mapping existing technologies, discussing new technologies take-up, and training on those for the explicit IMT’s enhancement.
WP4: Exploratory research project: Wearable and/or portable platform for air monitoring
WP4 will focus on the exploratory research project. IMT will be responsible for mapping air quality in the city as well as promoting at IMT the enhancement in modelling, simulation, technology and characterization of sensors and systems. One task will also cover the technology transfer activities.
WP5: Promotion of gender equality, diversity inclusion, specialization of staff and young researchers’ involvement
WP5 will be specifically dedicated to gender equality, diversity inclusion, and enhancement of staff and young researchers involvement in R&D activities related to the air monitoring sensors and platforms fabrication.
WP6: Strengthening the research management and administration skills of the coordinating institution
A support work package, led by TIN and co-lead by IMT, that will focus on the enhancement of research management and administration skills of the widening institution.
WP7: Enhance entrepreneurship, responsible approaches and citizen involvement for novel technologies for environment monitoring and citizens well-being
Being a support work package, its activities will cover stakeholders’ engagement and entrepreneurship enhancement in the environmental monitoring field. A Centre for Excellence in Nanoelectronics will be
established within WP7, supporting the exchange of information with major stakeholders in the Romanian environmental field, creating strategic partnerships and public awareness, providing state of the art information about the best practices for the air monitoring in Romania. Other important aims of WP7 are to transfer knowledge through industry secondments and to reinforce practices and professional skills related to the social and economic implications of environmental and biomedical monitoring.
WP8: Dissemination, exploitation & communication
WP8 is the dissemination, exploitation, and communication work package. The coordinator, IMT, will be in charge of the dissemination (differentiated by stakeholders’ type) and will target specific scientific and general audience publications and dissemination channels. The exploitation tasks will be run according to an exploitation plan. Internal and external communication will also be ensured within WP8 via different social media channels addressing the general public, industrial and science policy objectives to rise IMT visibility and the NET4Air Centre for Excellence at national and International levels.
