NET4Air: A Networking Center for excellence in Nanoelectronic Devices for Air Monitoring
The main aim of Twinning exercise is “to enhance networking activities between the research institutions of the Widening countries and top-class leading counterparts at EU”….”The networking for excellence will lead to knowledge transfer and exchange of best practice between research institutions and partners”.
NET4Air actions are concentrated towards IMT’s gain of expertise from internationally leading partners on advanced nanoelectronic-based devices, nanotechnology, and smart systems integration for applications in environmental monitoring, communication, and data processing. The knowledge gap will be addressed by specific measures of knowledge transfer and exchange of best practices between research institutions and partners, personnel exchange, access to training and infrastructure and expert visits. The partnership will strengthen the scientific capacity of the partners as well as enhance IMT’s know-how, knowledge, research management, and administration of scientific projects skills.
The networking gap will be addressed by building inclusive collaboration links and sharing know-how to enhance the international profile of IMT. Options for collaboration opportunities will be transparent between partners and will be promoted through joint research agendas and communication with the various stakeholders. IMT will capture important contacts for funding and commercializing future R&D developments that will follow up. This is a valuable opportunity to learn practices on the establishment of spin-offs for the deployment of research results in practice from UCC’.
One of the main objectives of the NET4Air project is to build a sustainable research community among the partners, fostering regional excellence in the field of sensors, monitoring practices and AI for data processing of air quality measurements. To achieve this, a research project addressing multiple instances of air pollution will be run over the length of the project.
